Future Focused! Driving Our Sustainability Strategy

To Dr. Anne Adden, sustainability isn’t just a buzzword, it’s her raison d'etre (reason for being)! As our leading sustainability strategist at Roquette Health and Pharma Solutions (legacy IFF Pharma Solutions), Anne is forging a path to meet our future sustainability needs and to be conscious of our impact on the planet. Her work carries through to our dietary supplements segment where sustainability and responsible sourcing are important differentiators in the industry.

While Anne’s background is in Chemistry, her educational and career trajectory has taken her from scientist to strategist, with expertise in the pharmaceutical, food, and construction industries. She is a dedicated problem-solver with a sharp focus on fulfilling the needs of our customers.

Since assuming this role in 2024, Anne has been collaborating with Roquette’s Corporate Sustainability Team on building a cross-functional team to work on a “decarbonization” roadmap. This team is also tackling energy-efficiency projects at our manufacturing plants to ensure regulatory compliance.

Anne shared that this role is perfect for her because she is a nature and animal lover.

“I believe in living a more sustainable lifestyle. Taking care of our planet is a cause that’s near to my heart as a mother of three young children. I’m very happy that I can now bring that same passion to my professional role.”

She also shared advice that she lives by: “Pick your battles.” She learned early in her career that there will always be things we cannot control. Instead, Anne chooses to focus her energy where she can truly make an impact. And she brings that same energy to her life outside the office! Anne recently picked up a new hobby – horseback riding. She’s also a fan of running, skiing, mountaineering, and just about anything else that gets her out in nature with her active family.
