Meet Dr. Mohammad Qadir

Lead Applications Scientist, IFF Pharma Solutions

OUR DRUG DELIVERY SPECIALIST CLIMBS TO NEW HEIGHTS

When you think of a job in the pharmaceutical industry, Dr. Mohammad Qadir has most likely done it. His prolific background in drug product and combined device development, from proof of concept to clinical trials, gives him a unique perspective that he brings to his work at Pharma Solutions!

With experience in production, quality, research and commercial areas, he’s gained invaluable knowledge and skills during his career, and his passion for pharmacy shines in everything he does.

“My drive has always been the betterment of human life,” he shared. “That’s why I love pharmacy. It is a field with vast areas of specialization which all lead to one common goal – improving patients’ lives.”

Mohammad holds a doctoral degree in pharmaceutical sciences from University of Strathclyde in Glasgow, Scotland, and specializes in formulation design and the delivery of various dosage forms. Today, he leads the Multivariate Analysis (MVA) team for Pharma Solutions. Additionally, he is the technical focal resource for global key accounts and is responsible for the execution of application projects.

Mohammad shared that the best advice he’s received is that an academic degree is only a key to open doors, but after that you must continue to learn and grow both professionally and personally. And he certainly embodies that philosophy of life-long learning! His professional contributions are many, from numerous scientific publications to a patent for a pharmaceutical polymeric drug-device unit which offers improved control of drug release. He is also a frequent speaker at conferences on topics like Quality by Design, MVA, matrix formulations, and immediate-release formulations.

And on the personal side, living and working in Scotland since 2006, Mohammad takes every opportunity to challenge himself while enjoying the highlands. He has climbed Scotland’s second highest mountain, Ben Macdui, and is preparing to tackle Ben Nevis, the highest peak! And he’s also always ready to climb to the next level for patients.
